First of all I am not a Dungey fan.But I respect this kid for totally destroying what the AMA has to offer for competition. This is supposed to be the best of the best. I know if RV, JS7,Chad(in good health) would have been in the fight the outcome would have been different. But no one else is a threat to this kid. Don't get me wrong I know they all work hard and anyone who holds a national number deserves a lot of respect. But if you can't give this guy more of a fight at the end of a race you need to step up your game. He isn't super human (although he is training at Carmichaels) he can be beat.
Face it guys he totally kicked your butt. He wants it more than you!

if everyone were 100% the 450 class would be as stacked as any time in history...js7, reedy,dungey, rv2, alessi, grant, millsaps, shorty, hill, ok...now that i list it, maybe not as stacked as any time in history, but still pretty damn stacked...but this is motocross..there is never a time when EVERYONE is 100%..in 81 when hannah and howerton were goin at it, someone was sittin at home hurt thinkin he could wax them...remember "the perfect storm" supercross season, with mc, rc, stewie, and what everyone said was the most stacked gate ever?? how long did that last? 1 round?? part of being a badass in moto is being on the gate, week in, week out..i do agree that the only exciting parts of the 450 motos are the 1st 5 to 10 min..after that its more fun to watch 8th place thru 12th place, where the guys are actually racing. we all want every moto to be like moto 1 red bud this year, but more often than not we watch the yellow #5 robot just destroy every one....unadilla is getting close though, the return of js7..is it gonna make it more exciting? or do we get to watch him destroy everyone?? even if he has he speed, i doubt dungey is gonna be willing to go wfo to try and beat js..it'll be top 10 follow the leader.

Good point "motopitt23." I agree. A "badass" needs to be there week in, week out. Any of you people who have actually raced competitive mx knows how difficult this can be.
The question is why can't the 450 class ever have a competitive year? Last year was the close to being a competitive season with Reed and Alesi until #800 got hurt. Every season seems to be a runaway be it Ricky, James or now Dungey. It's prety boring to watch. I think the 250 class is more exciting to watch most years both outdoor and in SX.
The competition needs to be tighter. Is it the bikes? The Gieco and PC bikes seem pretty even (edge to PC of course). Maybe its the format. If a rider can get a 1/2 second to second faster lap after 20 min. that builds into a huge lead and who wants to watch a guy ride around by himself? Or, is it that most riders are just comfortable to be a top 5 or 10 or 15 .... once they get to the big bikes.
I like what I've seen in the Australian SX with the different formats.
