Just saw the video.....

MAN. I feel so bad for Josh Hill. We can all sit back and say what an idiot he is but whatever on that. You can see he is on a serious high and pumped and then in the ambulance it just makes you feel for the guy. Dang.

It makes for a great discussion. How come X-games is so important? I mean guys are making a career out of one event. I know why it is the corporate thing. Seriously, you have to be there and see it to understand it blows SX out of the water.... If Josh would have won speed and style, he would instantly had an easier time getting a ride next year.

Also, for whatever reason rumor out there is YOU HAVE TO FLIP to win that event. As the head judge I have had numerous contacts with people asking me if they have to flip to win. It is a head to head comp with SX and a couple ramps thrown in. You take your time and jump scores put them together and get a winner. I think this is why Josh was so set on flipping. SO much emphasis is put onto a flip, you ask the freestyle guys and they will tell you nobody should win without flipping.

Matthes, I think you should come and do a story on it. Come down next week and we will hang you can sit in the judges tower with me and we can dodge the spit and ethics questioning on our way out. Good times.
