The regular caller Nash of the PulpMx Show asked Matthes and Watson could a 10th - 16th place guy, finally figure out some new program, or work harder, or get better equipment, become faster and become a winner or champion? Stanton was brought up and was a good example, I actually think MC is a good example because in the late 80's to the start of the 90's he wasn't killing everyone in Ultracross or the Golden States and he was mid pack rider for Team Green Kawi in the West Coast SX series. Then he just seem to catch fire with the Peak Honda ride and the rest is history. Recently a couple of guys like Weimer and Tedesco didn't have rocket ship rides to mx stardom but they solidly progress and both are now champions. But now days especially, it seems like the kids that are the fast amateurs are leading the pack, Villopoto, Barcia & Wilson are current examples of that. Any thoughts or prediction on one or a couple of riders that could put it together and change their career direction. In 07' I was really rooting for Grayck, but he just couldn't seem to shake his bad luck. Who is your woulda, coulda, shoulda, or someday dark horse champion pick?

HAMBLIN....And while he never became a champion, or even a race winner, he did elevate his game significantly once he was given the chance to ride Pastrana's vacant RM 250. He went from top 20, to podium outdoors. Just by getting his "shot".
