I tend to notice the anti-Pourcel bias creeping up in pretty much everything you say about him. He doesn't like to to interviews with you. Your manbuddy is working with Canard. I feel that the guy overcomes so much and gets credit for none of it. People in the media are always trying to find a way to claim one of the American golden boys as better than him.

He tries to pull the "I don't care" thing but if team managers try to big league him in this years silly season, I would love to see what he does when he actually does care next year.

And just because Canard has been "dominating this series" according to Weigandt and Emig, I feel a 20 second both moto sweep at Unadilla this weekend.

I haven't really heard any "anti-Pourcel" talk going on. All Steve has done is ask people if they know what might be affecting his second moto performances. James Stewart gave his opinion that CP has the championship and is "over it"... and DV934 put in his 2 cents...which makes sense to me... If Pourcel isn't eating between motos because of his stomach issues then he's not 100%. Mathes knows Pourcel is a bad ass on a bike, he's just asking what any motocross fan might be wondering.

Goride, I think you're right about the Unadilla thing but the rest, not so much. I've written and I still think that his absolute lack of caring to do much in the way of interviews, pc's and appearances will hurt him in his hunt for a 450 ride. Nothing against him personally and I could be wrong but I don't think so.

You always say this but then I go to transworld and there is a 20 minute video following him around. He isn't like Jason Lawrence who gives the middle finger to every media member who walks within 20 feet of him. There are plenty of interviews with him out there and other media guys including Swap say he is fine in that department.

I am curious if his second moto performances will effect his silly season more so than his image, J-Law and countless others have proven if your fast and a potential winner you will have a job. But Pourcel did have a serious injury, I wonder if those past injuries will be his achilles heal in moving up to the big bike class. JS7, Dungey, Canard will definitely challenge him and push him to his max next year, can his body take that week in and week out stress. All the 250 riders that move up to the 450 say that the extended series really takes it's toll and a 250 rider can't anticipate or prepare enough for that transition. Only time will tell, but as far as a fan perspective, I dig him, he's quirky, different, and seems to have a dry sense of humor, he is good on the dirt shark series when he's on camera. I was hoping he would have his own segment on the Pulpmx show each week, just a sound byte called "funny thing's that Christophe says"

He will be fine in supercross. The heat takes a toll on him because he can't sweat properly but the 450 class is never as stacked. The best riders go to the top.

I don't think I'm biased cause as a Pom we generally don't like the French. But we keep being told how bad Pourcel is at interviews and press etc, but as a fan watching the shows I just don't see it. I think he comes across witty, confident and funny. Don't see what the big deal is.

* I just popped my cherry on this forum! haa

I was not really a big fan of Pourcel in the beginning, because I didn't know him really and didn't know how he was, but I always had tremendous respect for what the way he fought his terrible injury and how he came back to top level in racing.

I have started to like his quirkiness more and more, his interviews are good, a bit satirical, a bit funny, very realistic. His second moto syndrome is not as obvious as we keep being bashed about it on TV, he went 1-1 twice this season and got a 2nd again at Washougal. He does have an energy issue at some of the races, for the second motos (because he is not eating enough) but he is learning slowly how to work around it, like he has learned how to work around his injury and handicaps.

I do agree with one of the posters though, it is repeated and repeated over and over again on TV, how his 2nd motos aren't good, how Canard has been dominating the series, how Canard is flying.

Let's not forget that there are 4 races to go, Pourcel still has a 38 points lead and has a good experience at winning championships.

TC is an awesome kid, has been riding incredibly well (finally!) since Red Bud and is on a roll, but some guys are better at chasing the points leader, some guys are better at managing the point lead. Let's see how those 2 are going to handle the last 8 motos; finally some more excitement in the Lites class, after the disappointing season for Barcia, Tomac (great season for the rookie, but so hyped up at the first 2 rounds, it's a let down).

I don't think that Pourcel is going to have a problem getting a good seat for next season. Imagine, the guy is still leading the MX series with 4 to go, while carrying the reputation of melting in 2nd motos. At least that's a certain guarantee for his future team, imagine if he wins more 2nd ones, double whammy.

Call me crazy, but maybe CP could consider going supercross only. L&M maybe?

I shook Pourcels hand at High Point and what struck me was his hands are smaller than mine.

He is fast, he is hot and he has a French accent, a triple threat if ya ask me.

How is that surprising? You're 400 pounds. Everyones hands are smaller than yours.

It seems this year that his personality is really starting to come out, and he's now warming up to the media. The dude is a bad ass on the bike, and some of his comments on the podium during SX were funny. Especially his comments about Barcia

Pourcel's Shadow video was by far the most interesting yet, that has a lot to do with insight into who he is being limited. It was noticeably longer than the other "episodes" which was better as well.

I think that video really did some good. Have you ever seen so many positive comments on Transworld, especially when the video is about Pourcel?

There should be positive comments about him. His story is amazing. Too bad certain people are obsessed with painting a him with a negative perception and only because he is French. However, Matthes isn't helping with his latest tirade and that only brews because Pourcel made a sandwich and wasn't jumping up and down about doing an interview with him.
