Matthes, what is actually going on with Lawrence?

He just seems kind of quiet and doesn't have the same JLaw magic at moment. I also noticed that you mentioned something about him and RL splitting. Did that happen before your podcast with Randy and is it for any notable reason?

I have a suspicion that his bike just isn't very competitive anyways and maybe he should just stick out some top 10's and try to get a highly incentive based deal with a real team. If he has turned things around like it has been reported, maybe someone will give him a chance.

I would think that it's a combination of all things, from his house arrest, to his lack of training and fitness during the months he was in, to bike not being competitive (although it is an officially factory-supported team), to searching for the right people to surround himself to I think somehow having lost his drive, his motivation.
He is still very young though and I believe that if he walks out of this year healthy, it could work in 2011, wherever he lands.

Yeah, he's not the same rider he was but that's understandable. Riding when sober may be a reason, the jail sentence may be a factor...there are lots of reasons why. But he's not the same guy and let's hope he gets it back.

There's a few things I'm sure about. One is that you'll never really know a lot of the truth behind a lot of things he does and that no one really knows what's going on with him. I don't believe the bike is the problem though.

Get this... Ralph Shaheen twittered that Lawrence says he is suffering from "racer block." I guess that means his timing is off, he has no flow and he can't surge? Dunno for sure.

Funny thing is, Shaheen doesn't twitter a lot, but he has easy access to the riders, a unique point of view, and posts some interesting tweets. (Don't lynch me! I'm just the messenger.)

I bet it is so many issues, 2010 is probably a year to reintegrate into moto-x and then will be looking to 2011 for his real comeback. The only thing I am curious about is how can he keep sponsors happy AM/PM etc. He has some great outside sponsors but now with Langston hurt they don't have any bikes on the track, this can bode well for their team and it's future.
