What's the 411 on Jason Lawrence's team folding and Stewart sitting out the first rounds of outdoors? I thought he was on the mend and ready to race at the outdoor opener? Anyone know what's happening? Will Lawrence be back on the bike this season or has he retired?

Thanks

Stewart wants to race as soon as possible but the docs haven't released him. He should be showing up for the last rounds.

Doesnt Stewart have the dreaded broken navicular bone in his wrist? The bone that can take 6 weeks to heal or maybe a year, depending on the person? The same bone break that essentialy ended Rick Johnsons career?

Lawrence should go to Europe. Do a Trampis Parker/Bader Manneh and live in Italy, race their national championship and the GP's. Really, it would be the best thing for him to live in a different culture. Course, maybe hes bound to stay in the US due to his paroll status.

I landed a jump once in deep sand. I was way off the back and the pressure pulling my left hand off the grip snapped my navicular. I never went back for treatment. It bothered me for about 3 months then felt fine. However anytime I'd do certain things like wrap a towel around me after the shower, or reach behind me on the john, or hang in a pull up position, it felt like an ice pick being rammed ito the middle of my wrist. That went on for over a year. This was 15 years ago. Not about once a year it will do that at any given time. Definitely a bugger.

Keep Dungey honest?

Huh? Dungey wouldn't even see a healthy James Stewart in the nationals. That's my opinion.

So paint a picture of what it looks like when JS7 comes back does everyone fall back in line scraping for 2nd's & 3rd's or does momentum come into play and RD5 is the new Carmichael type to dethrone the King of SX or a Stewart type to challenge Carmichael. The Carmichael analogy would have Dungey dominating for the next several years, and the Stewart analogy has Dungey winning races and in it for the championship(Drunk, but has JS7 as the primary dominant rider. Where does Reedy and Villopoto land in this scenario? Reed hasn't been his past 2007-2009 self and RV was building some serious momentum until his injury slowed him, but he was without a doubt becoming the championship winning RV of old. What about Pourcel as well, he is not a stranger to the 450 (Mx1 rider) and has the potential to shake up the new world mx/ sx world order in a serious way with his smooth style and heads up racing tactics. Hmmm not sure if Stewie will dominate again we might have seen a shift, but then again have you seen the dude ride on the Red Bull/ various videos, pretty ridiculous, note to cynics and doubters the #7 loves to prove everyone wrong.

I would go with the JS7 analogy. When James is healthy and stays on two wheels, He is the fastest man alive hands down. I think Reed's priorities have changed. Thats understandable. He has accomplished a lot, time for something new. RV, man if it wasn't for injuries. He is another one when he is healthy he is fast, if you beat him you know he will come back swinging and probably end up on top. Pourcel, well that is a whole different ball game and remains to be seen. Pourcell is smooth, he has a good record as far as injuries, He is smart and only does what he has to do to keep himself in the game. This guy is the Komodo Dragon, he takes down much faster riders by just waiting and watching. Dungey is fast and smooth but throw Pourcel, RV,JS7, Canard,Etc. He will definitely have his hands full. Pourcell is DANGEROUS. He can easily win the 450 class. If everyone else lets him get in position to lead the points,Have fun pushing him out. I'm pulling for RV but it is pretty hard to outsmart the Komodo Dragon.

DV Red Bud Podcast
DV had an interesting point on this podcast, have you ever seen Shorty lead or run with JS7 for 20 minutes. No disrespect to Shorty because I'm a big fan of his, but there is some truth to that statement. I know Stewie has been out, but history says he will be just as fast. Unless like Austin Powers he lost his mojo, and that would make for an even better moto tale. If Stewart could start his comeback story in 2010 at Rd #9 Unadilla, he should holeshot Reed, lead for a few laps, pull over, look back and wave Reed bye, then pass him again and win. Then we could title it "James Stewart Part 2, Deja Vu of 02'". Wow! youtube is ridiculous Stewart vs. Reed 02' Unadilla here is video of that pass.
