First, thanks to the guys that have my back on this. Let me explain a bit here..number 1- We invited Davi on the show and gave him the pulpit. Yeah, he def dropped some hints on how I was critical of him but thats ok. I can take it, I'm not going to get into an argument with him on the show. Again, he's the guest. I take offense to the whole "if you can't do it, then quit criticizing" which is the oldest trick in an athletes book and a ridiculous argument at that.

I'm paid to look at the races and give my opinion on them. He's paid to ride in them, it's our jobs. I'm done with that story. Now, having said that I did stand up for myself and tell him why/what/how I was critical of him. Now that he's been good, I've written good things about him. It's nothing personal, that's what these dudes don't seem to realize.

And man, could I ever bring up some stuff Honda guys/insiders who live in his are have told me if I was interested in ruining him. Not going to go there though.

I never brought up his divorce until he spoke about it a few times, once a rider talks about it, it's fair game to bring it up. Did I know about it a long time ago? Yes but it's not my business to break it and I don't care. Do I know a shit-ton of personal stuff about a ton of riders I've never spoken about publicly? Hells yes. Ask Shenzi, I'm sure he knows things that I know as well...

To have Marcus Sellards say that I was disliked is just ridiculous, say I'm a shitty writer, say I'm an idiot, say whatever you want in regards to my job but that "statement" is not based in any fact but the world that he lives in. My Rolodex of friends is long and goes far back than some dude that used to go to some races here and there. It's seriously laughable and made me mad when some wanna-be baller(you know the types of guys that "have" to have a team shirt to be cool) who I considered a decent guy, spouts off about that. Maybe I can get into the KTM and Thor "negotiation" stories that I heard?

Nah, not worth it. Maybe if he actually knew anything about the races I would...

the very funny thing in that thread, apart from Marcus "I call Mitch" Sellars' stupid comments are jmar's and I hope that Jim comes discuss it here at some point, or comes talk at the races. I don't understand where does he take his "tabloid" comments from and what does he consider "tabloid". in the last couple years that I've read or listened to Steve's work, never has he said anything about riders' personal life that hadn't been said before somewhere else, and that wasn't related to racing. Davi's challenge in his couple, for example, had been reported other places already and as awesome as it is that they are working things out right now, how can one says it has nothing to do with his racing; this is not small issue, it preoccupies you, it bugs you, it hurts you, it is something you think constantly and constantly try to find solutions and want it to get better. Of course it's going to influence/hurt racing. But again, Matthes didn't spill anything new there, it has been reported somewhere else and people on forums.
It's funny to see someone like jmar, a fan of this sport, not wanting to read and learn something not influenced by ad money or p-r material.

Smithy, they're as many as we were on MXI, the difference is that most are not there to bench race with each other, it's more an MMA ring of bragging and shoving rights than a bench-racing room.
and Marcus "my-brother-didn't-want-me-to-take-care-of-his-sponsors-anymore-after-I costed him-rides-and-money" Sellars is the one-eyed king in blinds country.

From MT board

Hahaha. He used to whine and cry because the FMF Honda team and KTM used to ask me to wear a headset and got me track access passes to help the team. He cried every weekend about that. He was such a whiner.

Marcus

He's right I did complain. Because he was a moron on the radio and used to not care about anyone but his brother. Of course there was the awesome "advice" he would dole out that we (including Broc) would all laugh about later. He has a bit of a hard time letting go you could say.

This thread is about to turn into either a fishtank or the thunderdome.

MT seems to be full of people that hoped to be stars in the industry and have failed. Most of the Grendel angst stems from that I believe.

Over at Vital, there are some know-it-alls and people that think they are important but most of the guys are just there for fun and some laughs. That board makes me lol a few times her and there.
But on Mototalk, those dudes are very serious (yosmithy excluded) and they are all very important people who think they can affect a rider/team etc, etc. Never have I seen more "I'll never buy X ever again because of this rider" than on MT.

The Grendel thread on there a while back was hilarious. Sometimes, Grendel seems to be the only guy that knows its a jack-off message board. And I say that with all due respect .

You can also tell when their part-time solutions (to make ends meet while internet stardom gives them what they feel they are entitled to) are feeling the crunch of the economy. Their post volume, crusades to "improve" the industry/a particular racer/journalist , and animosity increase tenfold.
