Ninth place sucks for him, but not being able to move through the pack has got to be a crushing blow to his mental state...especially with Villo and Dungey hitting their stride! It's just one race, but....

*It was a given 9th place at that...J-Law pulled over before the finsh and gave his buddy that extra point!
Anyone think J-Law my be helping his buddy by getting in RD5's head?

I hope Hill won't be accepting any of J-Law's "help" in the future. I want to like Hill; he's really an exciting rider and seems like a good kid. But when they're doing their ridicilous head-games against Dungey and try to act tough, they both look nothing more than insecure high-school bullies. Maybe it's time for LB to do something? Like banning the use of Twitter from Hill? =D

I think Hill should just start winning races first and worry about the championship second, while I can appreciate the head games (Bob Hannah style) most guys that played head games never won titles, Bradshaw & Chicken might be examples of this. Guys that put their heads down and won races or used consistency won in the end... Stanton, MC, RC might be good examples of this type of winning. Getting caught up in drama will only help out a solid contender like RV, while Hill is messing with RD5, a Kawi just might sneak up and steal this title away and he will achieve it by doing like he did at Indy and winning.

i think Hill had a bad night, whatever the reason (track not suited him, was he under the weather?), not sure but it's not something he's going to repeat often I think.

The all J-Law deal with RD and Hill, whether we like it or not, it's fair game. It's not the first time it'll happen in racing. Of course JH75 needs to win races, but somehow, J-Law does get into RD's head, the #5 falls in the trap all the time. He needs to get stronger mentally and brush off the b.s.

I hope you're right Shenzi...I'm a huge Hill fan, and I want nothing more than to see him succeed at the highest level. He looked good in his heat, very smooth and fast, but something obviously went way wrong in the main...hopefully he will put it all together in the A T L!

I am personally not a fan of the head games that Hill and Lawrence are trying to play on Dungey but I did think it was hilarious what Lawrence said about Dungey on the latest Supercross showing. He said something like "Dungey has had mental problems since the day he was born". It was absolutely ridiculous but quite funny.

I think head games are part of all racing. We've seen it in F1, in World Champ MX and AMA MX or road racing over the years. Even in MotoGP the big thing journalist like writing about Rossi is that he "gets into their head" when it comes to Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo or Biaggi. It happened with Hannah, it happened between Stanton and Bayle, between Everts and a few, between Reed and Rc, Reed and Stewart, Reed and KW. It's not the coolest part of racing, but it's a part of it.

One of the best one I know of was the Ben Spies vs. Mat Mladin battle for the AMA title. One morning Mladin came early, before anyone, in the Yosh Suzuki pits and plastered the walls of the rig with naked photos of Leticia (who was dating Ben at the time), even on every laptop and computer screen. Just to screw with Ben's mind.

That is pretty clever, go Mladin, he is a surly sucker that one.
