After reading Racerhead last friday, I have been thinking about DC's comment regarding Mike Alessi..."seems likely to end his career without ever winning a supercross main event". Who would have thought that could be a reality after being encouraged to "believe the hype" just a few years ago. It's crazy! But I agree, he won't win a supercross, and I would be really surprised if he won an outdoor championship. It's unfortunate, because he works hard and he's extremely fast, but I think his window of opportunity is quickly closing...But it is nice to know that he can still win at the local races in the SE!

It is a very interesting idea and it is possible that his MX career ends up this way too, especially if he doesn't get the full "love" from his employers, due to his or his dad's attitudes.
Very interesting posts/comments, following up Pit Beirer's post on his website, this explainsa bit why #800 didn't ride Mantova's races.

Rough translation from Alex over at Vital. Ill try give an Idea of what Pit Beirer was saying in the message (roughly) -
'Mike needs to get accustomed to the manner in wich to speak to the team here in Europe. The Mechanics work many late nights in order to perfect the bike for him at Mantova and yet hes still not happy. We simply put his bike away. We dont force anyone to ride our bike :Innocent Max on the other hand is very satisfied with the machine and had a good race. Max Finally sees Mantova for what it is, a preperation race. I think he will really surprise people when the GPs start. See you soon Pit'

Hardly a way to build team loyalty with your mechanics by dissing them!
Toni Cairoli had no problems with the bike.
Kid needs to learn some manners.

The Alessis broke their KTM contract to go to Suzuki because they said the bikes sucked... They went to Suzuki, they spent tons of money by building the same tracks of the SX races every other week in Adelanto, CA, bought a house and land in FL and did the same with the track... All of that to go back to KTM because they couldnt find a ride anywhere and go MX only... What a great investment... Talk about making wrong decisions... On top of that, Tony thinks he knows about MX but in fact he has no idea... OK, i'll give it the "starts" part...

Steve is smiling somewhere in a corner...

Honestly, I think after this year in the Nationals that Mike will go to the GPs full time for the rest of his career. He will still come here and do off weekends over there and do races here like some other GP peeps do. He may even come back here and do a season late in his career, but thats about it. He will never win a title here and never even win a SX main, so why stay here? Just go overseas and score a few GP titles.

mini father scene. I pay no attention. Much more awesome things going on in our sport than this side show.

That's probably the best thing to do in this case...

So this is where all the decent human beings are hanging out. Sorry to break the streak.

Has there been any more elaboration on the incident with Beirer? Can't say the internet novelty acts looking for some meager scraps of acknowledgment in the pits by tearing down Tony are really reliable sources in any way.

i don't think that it is in the benefit of KTM and anyone in that team, the Alessi included, to elaborate on what happened at Mantova. If there was nothing, it's good that it goes away, if something did happen, i would think everyone wants to let it go and forget it.

That's perfectly logical, but historically not how these things play out (Especially with KTM and the Alessis).

Have you parted ways with MT, Shenzi?

I agree with 721, the Alessi fodder is good for the tabloid banter, but if he doesn't post some solid results soon, he will passed bye literally in the results, by sponsors, and media due to the new up and coming fast crop of riders that have the whole package, speed, results, and positive media presence. That's why Nike = Dungey & JS7. I will predict though that he will retreat to the Apple Valley compound make friends with Zip Ty Davis or L.R. and become an offroad legend... jk.

He had so many opportunities to win a championship, but could never pull it out. Don't know if his Dad had anything to do with that, or not. I think his window closed a long time ago, and he is swiftly on his way out. He might win a few more Nationals or some GP's, but I just don't see him doing to much. Sad story, he should have one so many titles.

He was one of the fastest riders in the 450 class last year if not the fastest after rv, hes young still and appears to be very physically fit. I think hes far from done here or overseas.

I think if he dumped his dad he would get a do-over with a lot of teams.
