2-Stroke at Indy!

Michael Heingartner number 894 is riding a RM250 two stroke at Indy!
RacerX has the pre-entry list on their website.
Lets hope he qualifies!
Good for the show and the nostalgics. There's usually a bigger rider turn-out at Indy (like Atlanta), it might not be an automatic night show for the 894.

He didn't make it..... that sucks. I think if he made it, he would have got an interview on SPEED for sure. The bike is bone stock except for suspension.
Heingartner is a really laid back cool dude, that is fearless over massive jumps... But, I believe you're dreaming if you think Speed would dare interview a 280 pound dude on a bone stock 2-stroke.

they interviewed willard in 07 when he qualified for the main on a 125 ktm in las vegas! Actually they didn't interview him but they showed him for like 30 seconds and talked about the two stroke thing.

Maybe this guy could put a two stroke in the main? I think he could, but to be competitive and run up front not likely.

Listen to Steve propose the 2 stroke question to Mitch from PC and see what he thinks...

Also I can appreciate the effort but he needs to rethink for the next attempt, 1st. build a super fast bike, lighten it with all the Ti he can afford and maybe try to get down to less than 250lbs. Then maybe he will have a chance. I wish the would just let them put the 250 2- stroke in the "250" class or let the punch them out to a 350cc and run with the "450's"

Here is a link to the Dungey / JLaw thing but more importantly the guy that tried to qualify on a two stroke. Mike Heingartner Story...

Sounds like some of you know him, he's a card carrying AMA Pro? Last night on the moto show they said he was black flagged for rolling the triple. Just curious of his background etc.
I heard Paul or KW say that he was black-flagged last night on the show but I don't believe it's correct. Mike himself explained that he was having serious jetting problems and couldn't clear the triples and decided that it was safer to pull out. He was not rolling everything, I watched him carefully in practice and saw him jump the doubles, the tables to tables and other stuff, but not the triples.
I think I saw him a few years ago at the LV SX, he was on a 4 stroke then.
Here's a (very) short clip of Heingartner blitzing some whoops and jumping a fairly decent triple. motomike894
He really doesn't have any problem with the triples. As Shenzi posted, he was having jetting issues. Indiana is ass deep in snow, so its not like he has anywhere that is 75-80 degrees to sort out jetting.
I hope to see him do well at St. Louis.

Awesome, and Sleetdawg will probably be on a KTM250 2 stroke at Seattle!
